“Good food is momentary in the mouth, but immortal in the soul.” -Unknown
I have enjoyed food photography for sometime now. I’m not much of an expert in the kitchen (although I’m working on this), but I absolutely love food and all the various ways it can be arranged.
I’ve been experimenting with different arrangements and reading a book I recently bought called Plate to Pixel: Digital Food Photography & Styling by Hélène Dujardin. It shows creative ways to display food and explains the use of lighting techniques, as well as post-processing, in an easy-to-read format.
Some suggestions include the use of textured fabrics in the background and stray silverware and spices as additional props.
It’s a good resource for someone like me who is still new to food photography. I look forward to improving my technique and sharing my results with all of you!
