This is the question I dread being asked the most. I used to answer, “I’m a stay-at-home mom,” (SAHM), to which the reactions have ranged from a slow confused nod, to a fleeting expression of distaste.
Sometimes we can’t be very choosy about the mom friends that we do make and thus, become friends with someone solely because they also have kids.
I want to teach the kids about reward and punishment, and about justice. But more than that, I just want the Dreaded Whiny Scream to STOP.
Raising children has helped us build up our own kind of arsenal, one that could be applied to the workplace, helping us survive and thrive.
On some days, it feels as though every conversation I have with my kids is only yelling and scolding. It’s as if that’s the only interaction we have sometimes.
Granted, I never clean so well as when we are about to have guests over.
