Here’s a fun activity you won’t ever forget. Covering over 5000 square meters within Bur Dubai’s Creek Park, Dubai Dolphinarium is a fun place to be in. It’s a state of the art facility, the Middle East’s first fully air-conditioned Dolphinarium. The 45 minute dolphin and seal show takes your breath away as the adorable bottle nosed dolphins and seals amaze you with their intelligence. Drive up the slopes of a sand dune and zip down in a 4×4 in this fun activity. Get up close with camels (“the ships of the desert”), decorate your hands and feet with henna, or get your snaps taken with the sunset as the backdrop. Don’t you miss this evening desert safari with BBQ dinner when in Dubai. You can also camp in the desert with a traditional Arabian feast served to you.  It’s a complete Arabian Desert experience, this evening desert safari.

With the mountain and wadi surface changing continuously, desert-sand driving is a tough challenge. Even a very experienced driver would find it unpredictable. So we suggest that you take along an experienced and qualified driver. If you’re looking to have a go at it yourself, go for a short course on the nitty-gritty of desert-sand driving at the Emirates Driving Institute. If you seek the fun of being in a group, head straight to the Emirates Offroaders who would be more than happy to welcome you into their fold.

With a coastline stretching for all of 50 kilometers, Dubai offers visitors an unforgettable diving experience. No matter if you’re experienced or a first-timer, the Atlantis Dive Center has PADI instructors with certification courses being conducted. There’s a host of thrilling activities waiting for you. You can go snorkeling or diving with your family, accompanied by expert divers to explore the lost city of Atlantis. If it’s something more daring that excites you, dive deeper into the ruins or enjoy the exhilarating experience of feeding sharks or rays.

While in Dubai, most people tend to visit the bars, the pubs, the nightclubs, the restaurants and of course, the malls. People also focus on the mesmerizing Dubai skyline with the world’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa standing tall. What they miss out on is the wonderfully relaxing, yet fun activity of fishing. Dubai, with its large fishing community, offers a lovely fishing experience. The seasons are between January and May, with January to March being the absolute peak season. Once you’ve chosen the right rod, the sea beckons you with its treasure trove of various fish like Sheri, Kingfish, Barracuda and Hammour to name a few.

Nice options to get away from the glitz and glamour of the city!

Please don’t visit dolphin and seal shows, they are captive prisoners who deserve freedom. And please don’t fish either, fishes have personalities, sensitivities and they feel pain. They don’t deserve to be assaulted and thrown back, or assaulted and brutally murdered. Please don’t support these practices. Thank you. Best wishes and love from Edwina Melinda Smith
