Title: The Road to Mumbai
By: Ruth Jeyaveeran
Good For: Kids ages 4-8
The Skinny: A young girl named Shoba, with the help of her monkey Fuzzy Patel, takes a magical journey to Mumbai in order to attend a monkey wedding, meeting an eclectic assortment of well-wishers along the way.
The Pros: Gorgeous illustrations, an engaging plot, Fuzzy’s adorable snobbery
The Cons: May seem a bit long if your kids are very young, but otherwise a very nice read.
The Bottom Line: This is a sweet story about what can happen when you have faith in the kindness of strangers. Be warned, if your kids are anything like mine, they will want you to read The Road to Mumbai again and again!
