Title: The Money Book for the Young, Fabulous & Broke
By: Suze Orman
Good For: Anyone who could use money advice (isn’t that all of us?)
The Skinny: The finance guru dishes on the best types of loans for first-time homebuyers, leasing vs owning a car, the importance of a FICO score, and more.A must-read for those who are just beginning to reach large financial milestones in life.
The Pros: Written in informal and easy-to-follow language, as if you are at a Suze Orman seminar in person. The book is sectioned off into smaller units, with large headings, unifying graphics, and real-world scenarios.
The Cons: Really makes you want to meet Suze in person so you can ask her all your questions directly. She really knows her stuff!
The Bottom Line: This book contains the main points needed to understand car and home loans, student loans, maintaining a savings account, and the importance of your credit score—all the stuff that should be taught in school, but sadly isn’t.
