Gladiator booties seem to be everywhere these days, from runways to the red carpet. I, for one, have never been a fan of them, and believe that nothing can ever replace the classic pump (except maybe its cousin, the pointed toe pump, which had an amazingly long run).
Booties themselves have been around for awhile, and look great paired with long flared pants or a cute skirt.
But someone, somewhere, thought that taking the classic bootie and splicing it with ancient Roman footwear was actually a good idea. And of course, fashionistas everywhere jumped on the bandwagon, thinking “gladiator booties” were actually fashionable. They have had their 15 minutes of fame, but now it’s time to throw them to the lions.
